Raspberry Ripple is a collaboration brew between Sheffield's Beer Central and North Riding Brewery. Not quite a fruit beer, but fruitier than a pale ale.
Pour gently to leave the yeast in the bottle and you're rewarded with a shimmering gold liquid that's nearly transparent. It's topped with a foamy white head.
The aroma is unmistakably fresh raspberries with a slight vanilla sweetness towards the back. Light and creamy on the tongue, the mouthfeel is remarkably thick for a pale ale. There's plenty of fruity raspberry flavour, but without any of the tartness often associated with them when used in beers. There's a hint of vanilla at the finish that could benefit from being increased slightly.
This was a limited release beer with the main bottles available in Beer Central, Sheffield.
All bottled beers from North Riding Brewery are vegan friendly.
This beer is suitable for vegans at the time of writing (October 2016).
