Lost Industry Brewing is a small brewery located in Sheffield producing some interesting and experimental beers. This easy drinking IPA, a collaboration with Liz from the Devonshire Cat, is infused with fresh limes.
The bottle is both unfined and unfiltered causing a slightly hazy orange colour when poured. It needed some coaxing to increase the head, but despite this, the carbonation is perfectly suited to the style.
The aroma is dry grass, almost hay-like at times. There are also some mineral notes that come through that are often found in beers from Yorkshire. Freshly squeezed lime juice lifts the aroma and envelopes the nose.
Lost Lizzie tastes beautifully balanced; lime zest upfront complemented with pale malts. It's simultaneously thirst quenching and moreish, an absolute delight to drink.
Being a small brewery, Lost Industry doesn't have huge distribution at the moment. Specialist local bottle shops around the Sheffield and South Yorkshire area are the best locations to find them. This bottle was sourced from Sheffield's Beer Central who often has a number of their beers in stock.
Lost Industry do not use isinglass finings in their beers so, as long as the ingredients on the back don't include anything non-vegan, they are all suitable for vegans. Bottles are clearly labeled as such and indicate any animal derived ingredients such as lactose.
This beer is suitable for vegans at the time of writing (July 2016).
