Twisted Barrel should be a brewery on every vegan's wishlist. They're a completely vegan business and their brewers are charismatic and passionate too.
Detroit Sour City is their foray into sour beers. According to Twisted Barrel: "You're absolutely right, Detroit Sour City was our first sour, first brewed last Christmas for our Merry Kiss-Mas event. We and everyone else loved it so much we can't stop brewing it!".
This Rakau and Equinox edition of their dry hopped sour pours a pale, opaque yellow. There's a sharp aroma of tart lemon flesh and grapefruit juice. The initial taste is sharp, like freshly squeezed lemon juice flowing across the tongue. Some resinous pine needle notes come through the middle leading to a drying finish, making it incredibly moreish.
Twisted Barrel Ale are located in Coventry and have good distribution around the Midlands. They also have their entire range of vegan beers available to purchase online via EeBria.
