The range of hops used in this American Pale Ale is as unusual as they are impressive. Common American hops Citra and Cascade appear alongside the more unusual flavours of Sorachi Ace and Herkules.
All in Jim APA pours light gold in colour with an immense white head that dominates half the glass. The carbonation mellows and the head recedes to loosely cover the surface allowing the glorious aroma to rise above.
The unique Sorachi Ace character comes first with coconut, lemon and dill. It's sweet and fruity, with notes of sherbet lemon. Beautifully light in the mouth, but not thin tasting, the citrus bitterness arrives first quickly followed by a succession of herbal notes. The finish is strong pithy bitterness, encouraging another sip.
It's a complex and incredibily well executed American Pale Ale. A beer that could be bought by the case and you'd find something different in each one.
